Postdoctoral Fellows Positions in He Lab
Date:2026-09-28

Laboratory Introduction

Dr. Wenhui He received his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University and his PHD from National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral training from 2013 to 2017 in Dr. Wenhui Li's lab at the National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing. Between 2017 and 2022, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Michael Farzan's lab at The Scripps Research Institute. In 2023, he joined Boston Children's Hospital and the Broad Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He was appointed Assistant Investigator at CIMR in 2024. His team develops novel viral vaccines, antibody-directed oncolytic viruses and membrane-targeted protein therapeutics using an in vivo protein evolution platform based on B cell germinal centers. His academic achievements include establishing a mouse model of hepatitis delta virus infection, participating in the discovery of the hepatitis B virus receptor, developing evaluation models for HIV vaccines and building the in vivo protein evolution platform.

Dr. He's lab employs B-cell based in vivo protein evolution platforms combined with high-throughput functional antibody screening to generate functional antibodies targeting multi-pass transmembrane proteins for pain therapy. The group also works on HIV vaccines and therapeutic protein molecules, and explores novel gene delivery strategies to achieve functional cure of HIV.
